Temecula Has so Much to Offer
“Real sense of community”
“No other place like it”
We asked long-time Temecula residents to describe their community and these are the words we heard over and over from them.
With all the class of a truly cosmopolitan city and the coziness of a small town, Temecula has a magical ability to make people fall in love with it and never want to leave. The reason can be found not just in the people who live in our great town – but in the many things there are to see and do here!
Here is just a sampling of the many cultural, family and recreational activities that we enjoy:
Temecula Valley Wineries: the Crown Jewel of Riverside County
Temecula is one of Southern California’s premier destinations and for good reason: The magnificent Temecula Valley is home to more than 30 renowned wineries featuring hundreds of award-winning wines. Each charming, family-owned winery is situated within a concentrated, easily accessible area, making winery touring a very popular Temecula activity.
In addition to sampling a spectrum of delicious wines in a variety of fun, friendly tasting rooms, our beloved wine country is also a great place to take in a relaxing gourmet meal, enjoy bed-and-breakfast type amenities, book a spa treatment or just sit back in a picturesque setting with your new favorite bottle of wine.
Old Town Temecula
Being quaint and friendly does not mean being boring! Temecula is proof of this. The delightful streets of Old Town Temecula are the backdrop for many of Temecula’s most exciting dining, cultural and night-out activities. Here you’ll find nearly two-dozen restaurants to appease any appetite or budget, places to enjoy a beer and a ballgame, great night-on-the-town venues, as well as boutique-type shops and family activities. Old Town Temecula also hosts many fun family events throughout the year.
Pechanga Resort & Casino
Pechanga Resort & Casino offers many entertainment options at one exciting location. Come for the big-name headliners that perform at both the casino’s concert venue and comedy club; stay for the gambling, enjoying a cocktail in the lounge or dancing in the rooftop nightclub.
Hot Air Ballooning
With so much lush, gorgeous scenery to take in, it’s no wonder that hot air ballooning is one of the most popular ways to view the varying topography of our beautiful city. Want to really get to know the Temecula community? Bring the family to the Temecula Valley Balloon & Wine Festival. This is the town’s most popular annual festival.
A Hot Place for Cold Beer
While we are known for our wineries, Temecula’s burgeoning craft brew scene is not to be under-estimated. Start planning your brewery tour here.
Miles and miles of majestic mountainous scenery, gorgeous landscaping, stunning water features, rugged trails, recreation centers and pristine parks make Temecula an outdoor-lover’s paradise.
Ask any Southern Californian what they think about when they think of “Temecula” and they’ll tell you “wine.” Ask them again and they’ll probably say “golf.” With seven beautiful golf courses featuring expansive views, the Temecula Valley is ideal for any golfer, from beginner to champion-level.
Many of our residents are avid equestrians, a fact that shows in our strong equine community. The 14-mile trek of Dipping Springs Trail that traverses through Temecula is a popular place for horseback riding. Don’t have your own horse? There are still plenty of opportunities to participate in this popular Temecula activity – we recommend experiencing the best of Temecula by touring wine country on horseback.
The city of Temecula is ideally located near many lakes and outdoor spots that are great for camping, fishing, jet skiing, boating, hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities. Of course, there is no lack of family sports and other recreation opportunities in town as well.
With so many first-rate venues and performance spaces, you can probably find live music, a comedy act or a theatrical production somewhere in Temecula on any night of the week. Check out the local wineries and Pechanga Casino for upcoming events.
The Temecula Children’s Museum is your kids’ new favorite place to explore. This wacky, whimsical and wonderful place is hands-on, fun, educational and – believe us when we say it – actual fun for the entire family. From there, learn about the history of your new town at the Temecula Valley Museum.
For lovers of theater, summer in the Temecula Valley means literature and libations with Shakespeare in the Vines. The Old Town Temecula Community Theater and The Fine Arts Network are both great options for an evening of amazing performances.
From mainstream department stores to trendy boutiques to big-box brands, Temecula has enough retail establishments to keep even the most insatiable shopaholics occupied. The extra-large Promenade Temecula mall features a modern layout, lots of designer favorites and great restaurants. Bargain hunters will love Temecula’s proximity to the popular Lake Elsinore Outlets. Our many wineries, Old Town Temecula shops and various strip malls throughout town add to Temecula’s varied and exciting shopping experiences.
